Bazaar-vintage & antique store
Looking forward to when customers can safely come Looking forward to when customers can safely come back into the store and can see the results of our lockdown creativity...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's no good just plonking stock out; not everyone can see how it could be used creatively in their own spaces (especially if it's something unusual!). Our job is not to just source the stock, transport it, clean it, repair it, treat it, restore it, research it, then price it. No, we also have to give some of our lovely customers ideas. At times it's the most challenging and, simultaneously, the most enjoyable and rewarding part of the job. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Anyone else using this lockdown to start an early Anyone else using this lockdown to start an early spring clean? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Me neither. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know I should - but I'm a serial procrastinator at heart. Ask Mr Bazaar. Having said that, we've spent the last few days sorting out the stockroom at the store. Once everything has found a proper home then the store cleaning will start. I'm going to head for Geranium's green housekeeping stock so I can at least do it with some style. Cleaning brushes, hand knitted cloths, feather dusters - I'll feel like an extra in some period drama. Made from natural materials and nothing single use. In between sneezing from the dust cloud in the stockroom I've managed to start putting some of the green housekeeping stock on the website for click & collect or shipping. Hopefully more will follow shortly. Unless I get sidetracked in the growing pile of half-finished projects we've discovered already that is...
Beauty surrounds us in the normal everyday things. Beauty surrounds us in the normal everyday things... don't forget to see them.
Beautifully imperfect and very, very old. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A bit like me I feel... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now listed on the website. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(The antique jars, not me).
I have a real fondness for antique kitchen pottery I have a real fondness for antique kitchen pottery, especially pieces that are beautifully crazed, even more so those that have gorgeous lettering. Basically, this butter dish is absolutely perfect. It's also just been listed on the website...
So, in between taking stock images and listing the So, in between taking stock images and listing them on the website, we're making time to bring the freshness that is spring inside the store, ready for when our lovely customers can return. Well, I say we... Actually I do more of the pointing and saying "up a bit, no, left a bit, always my left of course" while Mr Bazaar does the heavy lifting. I pretend not to see the eye rolling or hear the mutterings because that's what a good wife does, isn't it?
We're adding more pieces to the new website daily We're adding more pieces to the new website daily and it's all up and running nicely at bazaarhomeandgarden.com. Click & Collect, local delivery and Mainland UK shipping are available depending upon the piece purchased. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@verdenarberth.com are also offering click & collect from Bazaar so visit their new website (www.verdenarberth.com) to select houseplants and pots to green up your home now the Christmas tree has gone...
Lockdown means we can't let our lovely customers i Lockdown means we can't let our lovely customers in to treasure hunt. Thankfully it doesn't mean that we can't work. There are a couple of projects running side by side as I write; one a physical one within the building, and another one, maybe two, in the ether (aka the interweb).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While we worked today I lit the lovely @woodwick_candles candle that @verde_narberth gave me for my birthday. I love the crackling sound of these candles and the scent of this one is heavenly! (Nope, not an ad - just credit where credit is due!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Simple pleasures... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Look out for exciting news on these current projects - we can't wait to share!
When we work in the Garden & Salvage yard we are n When we work in the Garden & Salvage yard we are never alone. There are two cheeky robins who sit and chatter, watching our every move, waiting for us to move a pot, a plant or something rusty, and reveal a tasty meal of wriggly somethings. Coincidentally, our tiny cottage in the woods is called Robin Cottage, and we have two more robins living in our garden here, a little more shy than the ones at work. Each Christmas we add another robin to our festive decoration collection - this year @the_eclectic_apple_pie had some beautiful carved robins and we chose one of those... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes it's these simple little things that keep you grounded. Something solid to hold on to when times are tough. Like now. Like most of 2020.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Christmas this year will be different for many of us but we hope that as we move into 2021 things improve, and next year will be better.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We hope that your Christmas is the best that it can be and that the New Year brings happiness and joy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Merry Christmas.
