Last year we ran a very small children’s fete as part of Civic Week in Narberth – a week long festival celebrating everything about our wonderful community.
We were truly astonished at just how many children had never hooked a duck, bobbed for apples or made paper aeroplanes!
We resolved to make our little event an annual one, each year adding another couple of vintage activities and each year supporting a local children’s charity. This year profits will go to funding new books and activities specifically for children at our local library, recently saved from potential closure by the community.
Our 2nd Annual Children’s Vintage Fete is now almost upon us! This Friday (28th July) why not encourage your under 10’s to ditch the screens and enjoy a range of traditional games including hook a duck, tin can alley, apple bobbing, hula hoops, darts and more? Let them enjoy a range of vintage games that you may remember from your own childhood!
We’ve added more activities this year and now, when you buy a £2 wristband so your child can play all the games, they’ll even get lemonade and a hot dog included in the price!
You can buy a wristband in advance at the store – that’ll help us work out how many hot dogs we’ll need. But don’t worry – you’ll still be able to join us and buy a band on the day.
Oh. And just in case you were worried? We’re got marquees just in case we get ‘liquid sunshine’…
